Dear everyone,
I can’t believe the launch event in Romania was already one and a half weeks ago! Time flies at an alarming pace, and I only now had the time to sit down and prepare this update.
The event in Bucharest
The event turned out even better than I expected. First of all, I had a lot of help from my family and partner, who all did their best to buy the necessary, set everything up, entertain and offer drinks and snacks to everyone at the party! I am lucky to have such an amazing and supportive “crew” so I want to start this post with a picture of all of us together at dinner, as well as send out a massive thank you to each and every one. Thank youuuu!!!
Unfortunately, I don’t have many photos of that evening… Everyone was running around, chatting it up, and I myself didn’t feel the six or so hours pass by, so neither of us had the time or mental space to take photos. We were all truly living in the moment!
As people started arriving, the apartment was soon divided in two areas. The kitchen became the “battleground”, where people could play the game or cheer from the sidelines, and I’m happy to say everyone had a great time playing! The kids were especially involved, and I was amazed at how quickly they learned the game, and at their impressive mastery of English. The “play room” buzzed with energy throughout the night.
Meanwhile, the crowd in the living room enjoyed a beer or glass of bubbly wine, nibbled on snacks, chatting and laughing together while pretending to be responsible adults. At least forty people passed by that night, from family and friends to people I didn’t know, so it was a good mix of different energies. It was great to see so many people mingling and having a good time, and I’m happy we could all share at least this one celebratory evening together. My only regret is having had so little time with each one of you, I was truly caught in the whirlwind.
Here are the few photos I have, but they don’t really capture the sizzling atmosphere of that night:
All in all, a cozy and fun evening, which turned out better than I could have hoped. Unfortunately I don’t have photos of everyone who passed by, but thank you all for bringing joy and laughter and making the event such a success!
The Olympus Races community
I took the time to put together more photos of backers who already received the game, as a thank you for your support and good vibes. If anyone feels like they want to share a photo of their own (selfie or playing the game), please send it to me at olympus.races@gmail.com and I will be happy to include it in the next update.
In the meantime, enjoy the colorful and crazy ensemble of characters from around the world. Happy to see that the game arrived in the hands of so many people of different ages, backgrounds and language groups. You all make up a beautiful community, which is the best reward I could ever get from this project. Hooray for the Gods and Goddesses!
The last part of the last part
And with that, the saga of the Kickstarter campaign is nearing completion. Ironically, the last people who have yet to receive their rewards are my friends in Belgium! I’m only now looking into the launch event in Brussels, which should happen very very soon. I will let you know as soon as I know more. I will also be attending the 10th of April edition of the Brussels Makers Market as well, so save the date if you want to pass by and see me!
I hope the game has already reached all of you international backers. As always, let me know if there are any issues with your game, or if you have any other questions.
Stay tuned for the next update with more information about the Brussels event.
Have a lovely evening,
Tudor
